CINDY SU'S PORTFOLIO
We often use our phones while performing another task, which can be inconvenient because we only have two hands. While we want to use the phone, we can't always hold onto it while we're working on another task. For our first class project, we had to design and manufacture something that addressed this problem in a specific context. The other requirements of the project included designing something that could only be manufactured through 3D printing as well as something that had a length, width, and height within 3 inches. Before CAD-ing, we had to come up with ideas and create a rough sketch of it. My idea was to create a product that could attach a phone to a refrigerator door handle so that while cooking, the user could look at the recipe on their phone while minimizing contact with it. This prevents the phone from becoming too dirty when the user decides to look at the recipe after kneading some dough.
This was the sketch that I had created.
